Perfume allergy

Fragrances are out of our everyday lives. In everyday products such as perfumes and cosmetics, cleaning products, detergents, fabric softeners come as both natural essences and oils and synthetic fragrances are used.
Also be scented interiors to create a pleasant atmosphere. But fragrances are not only pleasant side, they can also cause health problems.
The intolerance to fragrances is manifested as a contact allergy in the form of allergic contact dermatitis. In Germany, about 15-20 percent of the population are affected. Fragrances are for nickel (15 percent) the second most common cause of contact allergy.
Diagnosis of fragrance allergy
The allergy patch test is currently available for the two test mixtures are available: fragrance mix I and fragrance mix II. The overwhelming proportion of positive findings caused by isoeugenol and oak moss. Since the spring of 2007, subject to declaration, all 26, allergenic fragrances are tested individually. Thus the search for the trigger is a little easier, but not necessarily easier, especially as the perfume compositions consist of a product usually made of several individual components with varying degrees of potential allergy and in different concentrations.
Avoid fragrances
Actually have fragrance allergies avoid only relevant to them perfume. This is simply not in spite of the declaration requirement for cosmetics. For on the packaging provides consumers / inside only the collective terms "perfume", "Fragrance," "flavoring" or "flavor", the only indication is the addition of fragrances. The composition and contents of the individual components are not declared - with the exception of the 26 fragrances that are noticed by a high allergy potential. They are called individually with their INCI name on the product packaging. The Cosmetics Directive requires here a duty to declare, when the concentration of objectionable aroma substances in products which do not remain on the skin (eg, shower gels, shampoos) is more than 0.01% and in products that remain on the skin (eg, lotions, Make-up, sun creams, deodorants) is above 0.001%.
For scented candles, incense sticks, scented paper and toys or for Raumbeduftungsprodukte there is no regulation.
