Former minister behind bars for bribery

Former Minister of Health Achmad Sujudi, big chance to run behind bars disappear in a possible corruption case. During his tenure he has 105 billion rupiah (7.7 million euros) in damages from the state caused by a project to outsource, but the candidates themselves immediately be identified. The Managing Director of PT. Kimia Farma, Gunawan Pranoto, and the Director of PT. Rifa Mulia Jaya, Rinaldi Yusuf, are involved in the case.

The prosecutor in the corruption court said that the then Minister of Health Sujudi PT. Kimia Farma immediately pointed out as the supplier for a project to eastern Indonesia and the Indonesian Red Cross. This was not the standard pre-selection which is standard for such contracts.
Later he also PT. Rifa Mulia Jaya personally selected by the Minister for the same project. Gunawan made in October 2003 and Rinaldi agreements on asking prices of medical equipment. Ultimately, both companies opened at Rp 194 billion, but after negotiations it was Rp 190 billion.

Gunawan and Rinaldi in turn attracted four other companies for the project: PT. Berca Indonesia, PT Prima Semesta Internusa, PT Arun Prakarsa Indonesia and PT Penta Valent. PT. Rifa Mulia Jaya Rp 28 billion would ultimately have earned from this illegal construction. PT. Berca Indonesia around Rp 5.4 billion, PT. Prima Semesta Internusa about 6.6 billion and PT. Penta Valent 91 million Rupiah. Gunawan also paid about 200 million to Achmad Sujudi, while Rinaldi gave him Rp 500 million, said prosecutor Risma Ansyari.
